Answer:
Well if he sais that it's heridity thing as his father had it too, then I think i know what he's talking about. He has movement disorder called Essential Tremors (essential - geneticly transfered).
Although essential tremor can affect almost any part of the body, trembling occurs most often in hands, especially when trying to do simple tasks such as drinking a glass of water, tying a shoelaces, writing or shaving. Sometimes, one may also have trembling of the head, voice or arms.
It can occure at any age. It is triggered by stress, as well as any emotional situation (good/bad) that causes adrenalin rush.
It is something that lasts for a life time and progression is individual. One can only make the symptoms less visible by doing certain things. Definitly don't let him take meds on his own...as he can make it even worse. Take him to the doctor (if he hasn't been there already), to make a diagnoses and find a best way to treat it and cope with it. He will need your support too! It is hard to deal with a problem that it's not possible to hide, infact trying to stop the shaking makes the shaking even worse. He probably has problems with emberassing himself in some social situation. That's when he will need you there, to say that it will be alright, that you don't notice it, that you love him for who he is...And of course help him in some situations (paying bills, things that require fine motor skills etc.) so he doesn't feel frustrated.Tell him to avoid caffein coz it makes the shaking worse.Well, this is all i can say now from little that you explained about his tremors but i think i'm right. If you need someone to talk to or ask anything esle feel free to write me on my mail:
lina_girl06@yahoo.comIf you comfirme that I was right, write to me and I can give you some sites/forums to find out more about Essential Tremors. All the best!
He needs to go to the doctor. He may be having adverse side effects from some medication he is taking, or have a seizure disorder, or have high/low blood sugar, and on and on.
In some people it is lifetime problem, they feel it normal throughout their life with no problem, they are actually, intelligent ones.
